Wk 15 – Artist Interview – Troy Rounseville

The gallery that has caught my attention the most this year is Troy Rounseville’s. The gallery consisted of automated instruments that is played through sensors in another room. How the instruments were played via technology was very well thought out and interesting. Being a musical person, I found myself lingering in this gallery longer than any other gallery this semester. The “art” was to address the question of whether or not transferring emotions through technology change the authenticity of one’s experience. Although it was a great art gallery, I noticed that the music does not sound as appealing compared to a hand played song.
